Redfoo and his girlfriend, Victoria Azarenka, the world's second-ranked female tennis player, could both compete in the U.S. Open in New York this summer.
The LMFAO member has entered the U.S. Open National Playoffs -- a series of tournaments that ultimately grants its champions spots in the U.S. Open. He will compete under his birth name, Stefan Gordy.
Redfoo will compete in both men's singles and mixed doubles, the latter of which will allow him to pair up with a 17-year-old he coaches, Ayaka Okuno.
The U.S. Open National Playoffs awards the men's and women's singles champions with spots in the U.S. Open Qualifying Tournament, and the mixed doubles champions with a spot in the U.S. Open main draw.
Redfoo says in a statement, "As a kid, it’s always been a dream of mine to play professional tennis." He adds, "Thanks to the U.S. Open National Playoffs for giving good players with a dream the chance to qualify for one of the biggest tournaments -- the U.S. Open. Every day I see my dream!”
The U.S. Open begins August 26.
